He worked as a custodian for many years at the University of Utah. He was loved by many who knew him always making everyone laugh, he never said no or turned anybody down. It was always, "yes" to him. He was such a happy person. He would always call everyone to make sure they were okay, even when he wasn't feeling good himself.
David loved music, dancing, sports and joking around. There wasn't a day that he wouldn't call his nieces or nephews to make a bet or if they had seen the play of the Dallas Cowboys and Utah Jazz, his favorite teams. He loved going to Wendover. He was King David at card games. He also loved the outdoors and especially his dogs. David could never be without his Big Gulp.
He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters, and he was always with his mom.
David is survived by his mother, Jesusa Martinez, siblings: Alfredo Martinez, Sostenes Martinez, Jr., Randy Martinez, Juanita Ramirez, Belinda Reyes, Patricia Aguilar, Joann Martinez, Lilia Martinez and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Sostenes Martinez, Sr., and niece, Angelina Gonzalez, aunts and uncles. He is going to be missed dearly.
