Our sweet, beautiful wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, Constance Anne Anast-Jackson died August 6, 2023, in Murray, Utah. Connie was born September 10, 1972, to George and Joyce Anast in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Connie grew up in West Valley City, a proud Cyprus Pirate, class of 1990, where she excelled in debate and drama. After high school, she attended SLCC, receiving her certification as an EMT. She had many jobs, including EBAY, ADP, the Driver License Division and most recently at HCA. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Connie married one love of her life, Lindi Inman Oct 10, 2013, in Seattle, Washington. Together, she and Lindi supported many charities. They worked with the VOA, working with the homeless youth, making after school lunches and back to school backpacks. Connie was passionate about veterans and worked with the VFW, she created caring cards to members, services for the annual Memorial for fallen members, and, along with Lindi and Sarah, they organized breakfasts for the post. Connie was executive director of TEA of Utah, working on transgender issues. Lindi passed away April 10, 2018.
Connie was also known as Reverend Connie. She performed many weddings and through this, made lifelong friends. One of her biggest thrills was marrying people right after gay marriage was made legal in the State of Utah. She was very proud of the work she did. She presided over many funerals as well, helping families with the loss of a loved one. She was very compassionate and was full of love towards anyone she met.
In 2020, she met the other love of her life, Katie Anast-Jackson. They were married in a small ceremony November 13, 2020. They lived happily through a pandemic and through Connie’s many illnesses. She always said how lucky she was to find such a love again after the death of Lindi.
Connie had so many friends. She didn’t care where a person came from, who they loved, or what they believed, she was there for them. She loved to laugh and joke, was a good shoulder to cry on, and a sympathetic ear. She was an amazing person and a bright light in this world.
She is survived by her wife, Katie. Her sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Ray Wayman of West Valley, her brother Chris Anast of Nephi. Her daughters Sarah Hamlin of Layton and Jessie Pugmire of West Jordan. Her niece Sarah Anast of Nephi. Her in-laws, Steve and Yvonne Jackson of Richfield, sisters-in-law RaeLynn Jackson of West Valley and Cheryl Peterson of Richfield, her brothers-in-law Lee Jackson and Burtis Jackson, both of St. George, her niece Adison Jackson of Herriman, her nephew Jaron Peterson of Orem, and her best friend Sharon Walker of Mason, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her wife, Lindi, her parents, her great-niece Maggie Joyce, her uncle Jeff Anast and Aunt Jolene Anast. Grandparents Chris & Betty Anast, Jack and Elsie Beck Maxine Goodman, and Dora West. Her former in-laws Wayne and Jean Inman.
We would like the thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa in Salt Lake City and the staff of Intermountain Medical Center in Murray for taking such good care of Connie.
