Just saw this...Mary and I were classmates in the second grade and throughout our school time...Junior High, Senior High and grads together 1973. She always seemed a bit shy and as I look back, wish I took more time to talk to her, get to know her better...but always she seemed very sweet and kind! Condolences to family and friends...Lord, in your infinite mercy, grace and love...may Mary find eternal rest amd peace in your Kingdom!

So sad to learn that Ms. Ebert  has passed away. She really went out of her way help me with math and taught me lessons I'll never forget. Thanks  for everything Ms. Ebert, you're one of the greatest. 

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing! I hope she didn't suffer much. She was such a good person! Willing to help when she could.  Hopefully there was somebody to return the favor.

For three generations, the students of North Collins Jr.-Sr. High School were blessed with a teacher who skillfully, patiently helped them master an academic discipline and, more importantly, become better people in the process.

Miss Mary Ebert began teaching in North Collins during the 1984-85 school year. A lot of things have changed since then: in 1984, a gallon of gas sold at $1.20 and the same amount of milk went for $2.26. If you’re a dairy farmer, you’re very aware of today’s prices for each of those commodities. If you paid attention in Miss Ebert’s math class, you understand what effect those fluctuations have had on your life. That’s simple math. What Miss Ebert has done for three generations is to make a part of the world more understandable for her students. And she did that job as well as anyone, anywhere. 

But there’s never been any flamboyance associated with Miss Ebert; one simply cannot imagine her engaging in a pretentious display of self-importance. What Miss Ebert was about — what she had always  been about — was doing her job calmly, consistently, and at a very high level of expertise.

That’s what nice people do; they go out of their way to help other people. They don’t do it for rewards or applause. They do it because, well, it’s the right thing to do.

Miss Ebert’s philosophy and actions were guided by her faith. She was a humble servant doing what her faith told her to do. That’s it.  Just like the lessons she’s taught to three generations of this community’s residents. Miss Ebert has always understood that the big lessons in life are often the simplest. Those simple lessons — those simple truths — are grounded in the idea that it’s everyone’s job to make the world a little better place, a little bit at a time. My deepest condolences to the family on the loss of their beloved Mary. She was a co-worker and friend for several years, and she was one of the very best. Always a kind word for anyone, with a heart made out of 14K gold. She also taught my daughter, and she was equally compassionate, caring and wonderful as a teacher. I pray you are comforted by the fact she enriched so many lives through the years, and left a lasting impact that will be felt in North Collins for an eternity. God bless you all, and God bless my dear, sweet friend Mary. 

I just want to say that I had the pleasure of working with Mary as an Aide in her math class for a brief time. It had been 20 years since I had done Algebra and because she was such a terrific teacher I was able to relearn quite easily and enjoyed her her class all the more. Boy did we laugh. I had Mary as a teacher in middle school. She was a kind soul and cared dearly for her students. She loved doing what she did. I wouldn’t have passed algebra without her help. Thank you, may you rest in peace. 

My heart is broken for my sweet cousin Mary. I am going to miss her so much. Always loved our phone calls and my visits with her when I traveled home to Buffalo. You will forever be in my heart. 

I love this picture of Mary! She has a sparkle in her eyes! Mary was a force of goodness! Her philosophy: ALWAYS be kind! Always do the right thing!  Give gifts that are way too generous but very carefully chosen. And for her students..go to the ends of the earth to help them learn! She was an angel on earth and one of my best friends. My heart is very sad, but she is at peace. Heaven gained a very special angel! We all love you Mary!! Forever!

It was such a pleasure to have worked with Mary. She was a kind person and a great listener as well as an accomplished teacher. My prayers go out to her family. Mary will be missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. We were lucky to be next door neighbors for 40 years! She was always so kind and thoughtful! My deepest sympathy to the Ebert family.

Was depressed when I heard, she was a very kind person and instructor.  A few times I would have to stay late for help with math. She was willing to spend time and care so students could advance and not get behind. Beautiful person and soul. Good Bye Miss Ebert and thank you!

My condolences to her family.  Ms. Ebert was a wonderful and caring teacher that loved her students and math. She was an inspiration for my son and with her example he soon will be a teacher.

Amazing Math Teacher and such a nice person.  So patient and dedicated to her work. She will live on in the memories of her many many students whos lives she touched.

Mrs.Ebert was my 7th and 8th grade math teacher at the beginning of 8th grade she Left from teaching and they called all the students that had her down to the auditorium and let us all know that she found out she was battling cancer again. When we all found this out we all spent months right cards to her and messaging her thinking that she was going to come back to teach us all. She later on retired. She was my favorite math teacher. Me and her could talk for hours about anything. I really will miss her.

Mrs. Evert was my Algebra teacher her first year at North Collins.  I loved the course and attribute my love of math, in part, to her.  I’m a math teacher in a neighboring district and have had the opportunity to work with Mary at a couple of conferences.  I’m so glad that I was able to tell her how she positively influenced my life.  She was a light in this world and will be sorely missed.  

So sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful teacher. 

Miss. Ebert, was a phenomenal teacher, and very avid bills fans! She had to work with me a lot because my math skills were never really up to par but because of her I was able to pass math and move forward, I’m forever grateful to her.
