JoAnn is going to be greatly missed. I met JoAnn through my cousin who is married to one of Joann's sons. But she became very much apart of my cousin and my family. There was a time I was visiting my aunt in South Carolina and JoAnn was there. So whenever we could we always included her. I loved Joann's meatloaf it was so good. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind. But probably my fondest memory of JoAnn is her playing cards with my gram, aunt and my aunt's husband. They would play for hours. My aunt was very competitive and JoAnn would just shake her head like what did I get myself into. The four of them would start out all and giddy in the beginning but by the end of the night the moods changed drastically. It was always a good laugh. But my thoughts and prayers are with her family. It was very sad to hear of her passing. My heart dropped. She was funny whenever I walked into my cousin's house JoAnn always perked up and said "Hi Vic." I will miss that.

On behalf of Blessed Trinity School Alumni, we offer prayerful condolences on the passing of your mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A member of the Class of 1954, JoAnn will be remembered by name at the Annual Alumni Memorial Mass at Blessed Trinity Church in the fall of 2024. Her name has also been added to the Alumni's "In Memoriam" post on the church website, www.blessedtrinitybuffalo.org.

With her dynamic personality and extraordinary intelligence, Ms. Vogel was an incredible asset to my father when he worked at The Buffalo Medical Group and after he retired. She was always friendly and kind to my father, mother, my siblings and I. She will be greatly missed by our family and many others. To all the Vogels and extended family I want to send my sincere condolences.

To the Vogel family, I loved your mother. I worked with her for 30 years at the BMG.  We shared our family stories for years.  She bought my mother's crafts.    She was a wonderful, wonderful woman and I am so saddened by her passing.  My heart breaks for your family as I am sure you all will miss her very much. Dear Vogel family,

I am one of Michael Genco’s children.  I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother.  

She was a remarkable person and so special.  She had an enormous impact on the Buffalo Medical group and the community there.  She was loved and trusted by so many including my parents. 

Her support for, and advice to, my father especially as his health began to fail was tremendous.  He trusted her opinion about medical issues implicitly.  And she was so kind to him and then to my mother after he passed.  I was so happy to see her in June at my father’s memorial.  

I send my heartfelt condolences for your loss.  I am sure you will miss her very much.

I remember delivering the courier express newspaper to the Vogel apartment at 124 Jasmine  in the late 60’s when I was very young. When I collected each week for the cost of the paper I would always see Mrs Vogel and the young boys playing in the upstairs apartment. Mrs Vogel was so kind and sweet. I found out many years latter after not seeing her for many years after I gave up that route to I believe her son Bill, that she worked  at BMG with my mom. It was great to see her and talk a bit when I saw my doctor there. When she retired from there I often asked about her and hoped to visit with her again. I usually make those things happen, but as time goes by it was not to be. To this day I believe your mom was one of the very best people I have come across and will have fond memories. What a great family she had with 4 boys!!!  Hope all is well in your extended family’s and memories!

To the family of JoAnn Vogel,
     I am so sorry for the passing of such a wonderful person.  She worked so closely with my dad, Mike Genco, that she was like an extension of our family. She was alway so warm and kind whenever any of us called or visited the office.  When Dad was sick last year, JoAnn made sure we got whatever  assistance we needed to treat him and make him more comfortable.  It is an eerie coincidence that they both passed away on the same day a year apart.
