Brian was born on February 7th, 1958, in Buffalo, NY to Paul L. and June M. (nee Marvin) Louis. He was one of five siblings who grew up in Cheektowaga, NY. After graduating from Maryvale High School in 1976, Brian went on to achieve his Master’s Degree in Architecture from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1982.
Brian met the love of his life, Sandy, on March 20th, 1981 and married her on September 8th, 1984. They spent five years in St. Petersburg, FL, where Brian was a Registered Architect, before moving back to Western New York in 1988, where he continued his career. Brian and Sandy were blessed with their daughter, Alison, in 1989.
Brian had the desire and ambition to work for himself and founded Louis Design Group in 1993, and subsequently, Louis Design Solutions Architecture, LLC. For much of Brian’s 40+ years of professional experience, he worked for a diverse list of clients and has had his hand in many local, well-known projects, including: Wanakah Country Club, St. Francis High School, Schneider Development Services, Nardin Academy, Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, Saints Peter & Paul Church in Hamburg, Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo City Hall, Buffalo City Court, Burchfield Nature & Arts Center, Shea's Seneca, and numerous other commercial and residential clients. Those who knew Brian spoke to his professionalism, creativity, and integrity. Brian was also a founding member of the Buffalo Design Collaborative, a consortium of professional design firms that have completed many high-profile projects throughout Western New York.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Paul, his mother, June, his siblings, David (Amy Kerr) and Jeannine Erickson (Randall), and his sister-in-law, Charlene Franaszek (Thomas).
Brian is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Adelmann) Louis, his daughter, Alison Searer (Zachary), his brother, Alan Louis, his sister Susan Louis Sykela (William), in-laws Barbara Wood (Tim), Linda Noeller (Peter), Mark Adelmann (Sandy), and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive relatives and friends at Hoy Funeral Home (3855 Seneca St., West Seneca, NY 14224) on Friday, December 27th from 1:00PM until 9:00PM and on Saturday, December 28th from 10:00AM until 12:00PM, immediately followed by a funeral service.
