Bettyalice L. Riehle (nee Baer) Of Elma, NY. Beloved wife of the late Fredrick E.; loving mother of Robert (Marian) and Gary; cherished grandmother of Robert (Trish), Andrea (Stacey Willard) and Michael (Sara); great-grandmother of Alexander Solomon, Arbor and Cole; adored sister of the late Max Baer. Bettyalice was an accompanist for 34 years for the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus and for the chorus's Chamber Singers since its inception in 1995. She attended SUNY College at Fredonia and completed further study at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She frequently accompanies area and visiting soloists. She is an active member of Chromatic Club, Wednesday Morning Musicale, Women's Committee of Orchard Park Symphony and Westminster Presbyterian Church. During her career she has been the accompanist for Buffalo Choral Arts Society, WNY Chorale, Canisius College Choir, Buffalo State College Choir, D'Youville College Choir, Holy Angels Academy Choir, Master Chorale and Let's Make an Opera ensemble of Young Audiences of Western New York. She has performed under numerous conductors including Robert Shaw, Neville Marriner, Michael Tilson Thomas, Julius Rudel, Semyon Bychkov, Maximiano Valdes and JoAnn Falletta. In 2001, she received the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus' Jessamine E. Long Award for "distinguished service, exceptional dedication, and continuing commitment to choral music in WNY." Family will be present Friday, January 3rd 4-8 PM at HOY FUNERAL HOME, 3855 Seneca St., West Seneca. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service, Saturday, January 4th 11 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave., Buffalo.
