Sharon was born on March 10, 1935 to Helene and Adam Lynd in Niles, Michigan. While attending St. Mary's College, Sharon met the love of her life, Nicholas Raich, and they were wed on November 26, 1955 in the Notre Dame Chapel in South Bend, Indiana. Sharon was a loving and devoted mother to their seven children Nicholas (Kim), Michael (Jill), Tony(1960-2010) (Mary), Joe (Teresa), Jane (Ted) Tarone, Julie (Rob, 1957-2020) Carlson and John (1966-1983); 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Sharon dedicated her life to her family, always there when needed, showing unconditional love. Sharon was the foundation of the family and accepted all with open arms.
Sharon was a passionate outdoors-woman, joining her husband on African safaris, ski vacations with the family and yearly dive trips to the Bahamas. Invariably found in the kitchen preparing meals for her large family, Sharon always welcomed anyone to join in around the table and it was here many life-long friendships were made.
Sharon was a devout Catholic, serving as a Eucharistic minister at St. Edward's Catholic Church. She excelled at motherhood, with many fond memories of her shuttling her children to their many school activities. She was an avid reader, played tennis, loved crossword puzzles and when her children were young, she was a substitute teacher.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Nick and sons Tony and John.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 :00a.m. on March 22, 2024, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Palm Beach, Florida. A private interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
In remembrance of Sharon's life, the family asks that in lieu of flowers any charitable donations be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, T2T.org. in memoriam of her.
