Shannon is predeceased by her mother, Sharlene Weldon, and is survived by her father, Donald Krenkel (Fairfield, CT), her two sisters, Sharol (Marc) Wilcoxen (Marlborough, CT) and Liza Weldon (Fairfield, CT), her aunt Shirley Reid (Belton, MO), and her nephews, Andrew (Lindsey) Wilcoxen (Orlando, FL) and Rick Wilcoxen (Marlborough, CT).
She is also survived by her many current and former students, all of whom she considered to be her children. She would have gone to the ends of the Earth for each and every one of her students.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date when we can all be together safely. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shannon’s honor to the Southern Poverty Law Center, www.splcenter.org, or the human rights or child advocacy organization of your choice.
