Dr. Robert, 90 years old, passed away in Palm Beach, FL, this past week. Born in the Bronx, "Dr. Bob" had a successful medical career in Park Ridge, NJ, where he was a Chiropractic Physician, before retiring to Palm Beach in 2004. He was born on December 7, 1923. Ironically on his 18th birthday, Pearl Harbor was bombed. He joined the US Navy in the Pacific, where he sailed almost 300,000 miles on a destroyer-anti-sub. The USS Nautilus, was given the honor of leading the US fleet into Tokyo Bay for the surrender, and "Dr. Bob" was quite proud of his participation in the endeavor. Bob was a graduate of NYU and Columbia and earned many degrees, including a doctorate. He even won the title of "Mr. New York" in bodybuilding. Often he would go to Roseland Ballroom on Broadway and 51st Street, in Manhattan, because he loved to dance, and had a body of a well-toned athlete that was the envy of every woman, and man too. One night at Roseland, handsome Bob and beautiful Diane Rubinow danced into each others' arms and remained dancing partners until God wanted him to dance in Heaven. They loved Manhattan and thrived there until it seemed time to move to the country and raise a family. Every Sunday they would drive in New Jersey and found their new home in Park Ridge. "Dr. Bob" was fluent in three languages; German - and had an antique Mercedes, English - and had an American wife, and Spanish - the music he loved to dance to. He had a great sense of humor and always made everyone laugh... in every language. "Dr. Bob" was a healer and will be sorely missed by his many patients in the Park Ridge, NJ area. People came from far and near when they heard of his many miraculous success stories. His patients included celebrities as well as corporate giants. He gave people back their health, their lives, their strength and their laughter. He is survived by his wife Diane, his daughter Ellen, and his son Bobby. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation, and Event center, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33417, with Military Honors being presented at 1:00 p.m.
