Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 2nd, 1925, Lorraine attended St. Willibrord Catholic Grade School and St Louis Academy High School, which she graduated from in 1943. Following High School, Lorraine became employed by the Illinois Central (IC) Railroad, working there for 10 years. During that time, the IC benefit of “Railroad Travel Passes”, allowed her to crisscross the country visiting several states, developing a love of travel that continued throughout her life.
In 1952, Lorraine met the love of her life, Anton Michuda, whom she married on November 20th, 1954.
Lorraine and Anton had four children prior to the untimely death of her husband on April 14th, 1963.
Since that time Lorraine alone continued to provide the love and caretaking of her children, the occupation she devoted most of her life to, with the family moving to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1971.
In Florida, Lorraine became employed at Burdines Department Store, which later became Macy’s Department Store, where she worked as a Retail Associate for over 10 years.
Lorraine lived in her home in Boynton Beach, Florida until a brief residency was required for the last 3 weeks of her life at the Lourdes Noreen McKeen Skilled Nursing Facility, in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she passed away peacefully on August, 15, 2024, surrounded by her children.
Lorraine most enjoyed time spent with her family, traveling with her friends and family, going to the beach loving sunshine over cold weather, voraciously reading novels, nonfiction and newspapers, keeping up with the news and current events on TV, and watching her favorite TV shows that included soaps, Wheel, Jeopardy, old Movies, PBS, and Sports (especially any collegiate teams her children or grandchildren attended).
Having an amazing Mathematical mind, she took computer programming classes later in life, enjoyed learning computer use and staying current with technology of all types, used her iPad for emailing and getting the news, and enjoyed a daily Sudoku puzzle challenge, until just before her death.
Lorraine was preceded in death by both her parents - Evalyn and George King, her three brothers: Wilfred King, Norbert King, and George King; her nephew, Norbert King, Jr.; her niece, Janice King Bingham; and her daughter-in-law, Ana Margarita Michuda.
Lorraine is survived by her children: Anthony Michuda of Wellington, Florida; Nancy Michuda of Boca Raton, Florida, Michael Michuda (Cindy) of Jupiter, Florida, and Laura Michuda Sills (Howard) of Parkland, Florida; her grandchildren: Anthony Michael Michuda (Nora Michuda); Andrew Stephen Michuda (Kayla Michuda); Eric Paul Sills; Mark Bryan Sills; Mary Beatice Sills; Thomas Michael Michuda (Maria Michuda); John James Michuda; and Robert Anton Michuda; and her great-granddaughters: Lily Ana Michuda; Hannah Elizabeth Michuda; Victoria Michuda; and Isla Margaret Michuda.

“The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadth me the still waters. He restoreth my soul. Yea, tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for Thou art with me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
