John was born on June 4, 1924 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Mr. Agnew Gross Turner and the late Mrs. Eleen Rivers (nee Moffett) Turner. He moved to South Florida in Earlier years to begin his life in Miami, Florida with his family and then later moved to West Palm Beach, FL. John worked for McArthur Dairy for many years delivering fresh milk. He in later years joined the Palmwood F&AM Lodge #303 in West Palm Beach; the Scottish Rite Bodies 32° in Lake Worth; the Amara Shrine Temple in Palm Beach Gardens and the Ancient Order of the Camel Herders, Bahia Shrine Stable No. 166 in Orlando, FL. He was an avid fisherman and most importantly loved and cared for his family. John left to continue his work with the Great Architect on May 22, 2012. He leaves behind to forever keep his memories, five loved children, Evelyn Dazsi of Largo, FL, Linda Karner and her husband, Dennis, Patricia Brick and her husband, Rick Mellinger of Maryland, Theresa Pinto of Jupiter, FL and Dennis "Hoss" Turner and his wife, Michelle of South Lyons, MI; his adored eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his wife, Mira Turner in 2005 and his son, Johnny Moffett Turner, Jr. in 1991. Friends may visit and pay respects on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 1PM – 2PM at Mizell-Faville-Zern Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 6411 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33405 with a Funeral Service to follow at 2PM. Masonic Services will be presented to the family at the Graveside on Friday, May 25, 2012 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 6411 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33405.
