Gaylord Ingram Palmer, 61, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away on November 26, 2018. He was born on January 1, 1957 in Mandeville, Jamaica, West Indies to Robert Collins Palmer and Mazie (Williams) Palmer, the youngest of the twins.
In 1968 the family relocated to Brooklyn, New York. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School where he studied aeronautics. In 1976 Gaylord became a proud member of the United States Navy where he served with honor. After his military service he moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where he resided until his passing.
Gaylord had a passion for cars, especially his 2004 Ford, Mustang; he was also an avid collector of coins, stamps and baseball cards. He also enjoyed cycling and was a member of the St. Petersburg cycle club. When not enjoying his hobbies he was a valued member of Quantem Aviation Services in Tampa, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert C. Palmer, brother Robert D. Palmer, sister Angella I. Palmer-Williams, paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his mother Mazie Palmer, his twin sister Juliet (Michael) Davis, sister: Patricia (Felix) Matthew, nieces: Nadia Williams, Colette (Steven) Aguilar, Natasha Williams, and Nia Williams; nephews: Neal Williams, Joseph (Marisol) Davis, and Robert Elijah Palmer; sister-in-law: Stacy Palmer; brother-in-law: Henry Williams and a host of uncles, aunts
and cousin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 3:00pm at Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407. An Inurment will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens. A Catered Reception in remembrance of Gaylord will follow the Inurment.
