At the age of 95, Virginia passed away peacefully on October 15th, 2022 at Houses of Providence with her two daughters by her side. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Frank and her son Raymond. Cherished mother of Josephine (Philip), Joseph (Lorri) and Lorraine. Also survived by her grandchildren Hilary, Heidi, Joseph, Jason, Tara and Grant, and great-grandchildren Christopher, Ava, Lauren, Curtis, Tyler, Drake, Oliver and Bella.
A faithful Catholic all of her life, Virginia was a regular attendee at Mass, first at St. Gabriel’s in North York with her husband, then at St. Joseph’s in Highland Creek, and finally at St. Martin de Porres here in Scarborough.
For the final three years of her long life, Virginia was a resident of the Houses of Providence nursing home, and despite her mind being dimmed by dementia, she was a loving and joyful presence to all whom she encountered.
A Funeral Service will be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home on Monday, October 24 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place following reception, at Mount Hope Cemetery.
