Michelle will always be lovingly remembered as a vivacious, fun loving, independent woman. She was resolutely devoted to her dear Mother, Dothlyn (Ruth), other family members and a host of friends.
Michelle's global perspective regarding education was embodied in her life's work to bring her love for education to the world! She taught English in Japan for a number of years and provided online instruction at Brock University, Queens University and St. Lawrence. She also founded and administered a scholarship fund for her former high school in Jamaica - Wolmer's Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. In fact, her love for education continued until the very end! At the time of her sunset, she was training international nurses in her role as Program Manager for CARE. Michelle was a true Jamaican - holding at least 3 jobs at all times 😀
This independent, unassuming, bright woman was also a world traveler ... daunting across the globe to Iceland, Spain, Nicaragua, France, Japan, Costa Rica and Sweden. She lived life to the fullest.
Michelle leaves behind a loving, dear Mother - Dothlyn Higgins, and Father - Sidley Gordon; Loving siblings; family from all parts of Canada, Jamaica, and the United States - Illinois, Miami, New York and Maryland.
Special regards to her Foster Daughter, Mei and Cynthia; Aunt Pamela Appelt; her God daughter Zharia; niece Tione and dear friends Andrea, Pam, and Margarita.
Our Dear Michelle, may you rest in peace and receive your eternal reward!
