It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Alexander Edmiston after a short illness. John was born on December 9, 1938, in Glasgow Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1947 at the age of 9. He was the son of Alexander and Henrietta Edmiston (nee Forbes). John was the husband and best friend of Irene Edmiston (nee Boychuk) for 57 years. He is the proud father of Christopher Edmiston and Jason Edmiston (Tanya) and the proud grandfather of Alexandria and Brayden.
He is survived by his brothers William and Alexander (Susan) and his brothers-in law, Andy (Liissa), Don (Marilyn), and his sisters-in-law, Carol Wilcox (Bob), Kate Adam and predeceased by the late Helen Burke.
Cremation has taken place. A Service for John will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., West Hill. A Remembrance Gathering will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The Service will begin at 4:00pm and a Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in honour of John.
