Joan Elizabeth Anne Palmer

Joan was born on September 4th,1938 to Aileen Littlewood from Toronto, ON and William Littlewood, originally from England.

Joan was raised in Scarborough, ON and became a mother for the 1st time on

February 20th,1960 to her son Don Robertson. She played the role of mother and father at a time when this was uncommon. Despite the struggles, she always provided a warm and loving home for her son.

Joan was a kind woman with a gentle soul & she had a great love for dogs. She cared for, loved and spoiled many dogs throughout her life (Penny, Candy, Faith & Dolly). She always had a furry companion by her side & still talked about getting another dog, up until earlier this year, before she became ill.

Joan was an active member at the Church of Nazarene in Scarborough. She made many friends there, participated in bible study and helped organize Church bazaars.

Joan's strong faith in God carried her onward through good times and bad.

Joan is predeceased by her parents & her brother, David Littlewood. She is survived by her son,

Don Robertson (Joanne), sister Lina Shetler (Dave), grandchildren, Don (Jennifer),

Melissa (James) & Christopher. Also, great grandchildren, Emily, Aiden, Nathan & Daniel, nieces & nephews, Dana, Nancy, Patrick, Stephen, Jamie, Greg & Heather. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Carol from Australia.

Joan will be forever loved & missed by her family & friends.

A private viewing will be held on Saturday May 23rd, 2020 at 10 am, at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home in Scarborough, ON. A funeral service and celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
