With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Jean-Paul “JP” Gagnon in his home, at the age of 67, on September 27th, 2024. Son to John Gagnon (Dianne) and Grace Macey (Cliff). Loving and adored partner, of 42 years, to Barbara. Brother to Jim (Diane), Sharon Stewart (Al), Paulette Macey (John), Michael Gagnon (Lorna), Sue Macfarlane (Frank) and Norma Boyce (Larry). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dear family friend to Patty Newell, Marcus Derry and Melissa Hachey. JP will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all his family and friends.
An avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Toronto Maple Leafs and NASCAR. He had a mischievous way about him that made those around him laugh. One of his greatest pleasures was sitting in the backyard enjoying the peace and tranquility of what it had to offer.
JP lived his life the best he knew how and left us the way he wanted, at his beloved home.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. A burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St, Thornhill.
A special thank you, to Officers Mark Bernard and Jason Ragbir, from Toronto Police 43 Division as well as the Toronto Paramedics whom arrived at JP and Barbara’s home during this difficult time.
For those who wish, donations in memory of JP may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
