To the John family for the past couple of years I have eorked at yhe CNR where I would always see ian with his l8ving sister Paula and yesterday she approached me without Ian beside her. She told me of the sad news of Ian's passing. I am so deeply sorry yo heat on his passing. I too list my father in March.  I wish you all the best in your time of grief.

Ian will always be with you, every moment you spent with him during his life impacted you and helped mould you and your character into who you are. Deepest Condolences to Sandra, Clifford & Paula on your very sad loss.  Ian was a wonderful, happy and caring young man. My last
phone call from him was March 2nd, I still have it on my phone.
I loved our chats but for several reasons I was unable to return his call and I will always regret it.  Ian lived a very full and enjoyable life
and had such a great sense of humour, always a smile.

So so sad to learn of Ian’s passing. Skied with Ian at Mount Brimacombe .Truly hard to keep up to speed with Ian on his Cartski. Ian was my first student when I joined CADS sometime around 2002. More than a decade later, he was still going strong in his sit-ski, so enthusiastic about skiing that it was always a challenge for me to keep up as his guide. I remember working with Paula and chats with Sandra between ski runs—so nice that skiing was a family affair. Darlene and I were saddened to hear about Ian and we are thinking of him today.

ian helped me when i went to college with the elevator..   ian was good at directions.   .ian was a nice person and i will miss him.   he was a happy person .  he always thought of other people's feelings

That was a sad , sad day when I heard about my friend ‘s Ian departure from among us . I came to know Ian when I joined the wheelchair tennis program in 2019 as a player .During this period , his presence , his humor , his honesty made our connection stronger and stronger .I was blessed to enjoy his company and I was encouraged by his resilience and positive mindset through his obvious sufferings ! I talked with Ian over last few tennis sessions quite some time and although he mentioned he had some health troubles I never thought that it was very serious - he made it sound like there are only about some tests and doctors will know what to do .
We all miss him ! My sincere condolences to Ian’s family and my thoughts go in compassion towards them . May God of Jesus Christ reach all of us with comfort and peace this mourning period of sad days .

Dear Cliff, Sandra and Paula, my sincere condolences to you all on the passing of Ian.  I know it’s been several years since I last saw Ian and you Cliff on the curling ice at Toronto Cricket Club but I have very fond and lasting memories of Ian during our coaching and game sessions.
I would love to be able to attend the visitation for Ian but I am now living in St. John’s, Newfoundland.  Our coaching friend Tom Ward sent me the news and obituary for Ian.

Dear Ian, you are one of the funniest and friendliest people I met! I met Ian at the Monday night tennis class where I volunteered. He’s always the first to arrive, first to say hi to the new friends. You made everyone felt at ease, you bring warmth to people around you! Whenever I had a bad day, I can always count on coming to Monday tennis and Ian’s funny jokes will make everything better! I will forever miss you Ian! May you rest in peace! I wanted to say that I’ve attended Monday tennis nights on and off for 15+ years and for as long as I can remember Ian was consistently there and always happy to play. I occasionally would hit with him and he was always cracking jokes, obviously loved the game and was super friendly. He will definitely be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Ian's passing.  I met Ian at Monday night tennis.  He was always laughing and talking about beer.  I had to stop playing tennis due to an injury received during COVID so I had not seen Ian since then.  I will always think of Ian as that smiling guy playing tennis, talking about beer and making worse jokes than me.  I'm sad that we never got to go for that beer!
