Jeffrey Paul McGrath, 55Jeffrey was born in Newburgh, New York to Edward J. and Rueith (McKenney) McGrath of Harwich Port. He grew up in New City, NY (Rockland County) and was a graduate of Clarkstown South High School where he played basketball and soccer and was a member of the National Honor Society.Jeffrey earned a BA degree from Bucknell University where he majored in history and Japanese Studies. This led to a career as Director of Sales in the Far East for Compugraphics and Optronics. He covered 37 countries from Japan to Australia, Europe and the Philippines.After a short time with Polaroid, he gained certification to teach history and for the past two years taught at Upper Cape Technical School and coached basketball and soccer. He was also a referee for basketball, soccer and lacrosse.In addition to his surviving parents, he is survived by three grown children; Maggie of Houston, Texas, Michael of Somerville and Daniel of North Chelmsford. He also leave two brothers, James and his wife Betsy of Plymouth, Brad and his wife Cindy of Needham and a sister, Sheila of South Dennis and Quincy, four beloved nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends including close companion Annalisa Schmidt of Chatham.Jeff was a scholar/athlete and a gifted teacher. For over ten years he was a proud, happy and grateful Friend of Bill’s. He had a world of knowledge and a heart of gold. Hopefully someone else will have that heart full of love, as his organs were being prepared for transplant according to his wishes.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 13th at Holy Trinity Church, W. Harwich at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
