Jason William Zatlin died suddenly at home on Nov. 5, 2015. He was born in Glen Cove, NY, son of the late Stuart A. Zatlin and Deborah Zatlin Karn, he graduated Harwich High and attended Cape Cod Community College.
In his youth, Jason ventured West with his entrepreneur friends serving spaghetti dinners from the traveling bus called the “Ramblin Rose," touring the Grateful Dead from Santa Cruz to San Francisco.
Jason loved the sea, fishing, hunting, camping, animals, cooking, Maine Camp, family gatherings, especially visiting his grandparents' home on Long Island: sports, outdoor life, and nature. He loved to travel. His travels to the Catskill, NY, Nova Scotia, Grand Canyon, VT, NH, PA, OH, SC, CA,VA, and his East to West trips brought a peace within him.
As a young child living on Cape Cod someone asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up and he replied “a tourist."
He worked as a chief in restaurants on the Cape for a while but his expertise was being a professional finish painter on and off the Cape for 20 years. Jason was a member of the international Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local Union #402.
