Born in Mainz, Germany on Dec. 2, 1942, Jerry was the son of Albert Muller and Marianne Forderer Muller. The family emigrated to the U.S. in 1945 and settled in Bronx, NY where Jerry grew up.
Jerry attended Fordham University in New York City and the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT. On Sept. 12, 1968, he married Carol Stanisauskas, from whom he was divorced in 1985. They had three daughters. He later married Nicole Brooks and settled in Stratford, CT.
Jerry worked in sales and marketing for General Electric and later Black & Decker, both in Bridgeport, for 25 years. After losing their home to fire, in 1998 Jerry and Nicole moved to Harwich, MA, where he worked for Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod. Following his retirement in 2009, Jerry volunteered with the Alzheimer’s Association of Cape Cod, guiding participants through personal interpretations of paintings at various art museums. He also packed and delivered food with the Harwich Council on Aging’s Brown Bag program. He was an avid reader and chess player.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Nicole Muller; his daughters Lisa (Bill) Fornara of N. Salem, NY, Audrey (Art) Smith of Stamford, CT and Janet (Tom) Vargas of Rye Brook, NY; stepdaughter Melanie (Ashley) Brennan Kevlin of Glenville, NY; sisters Barbara (Glenn) Welcher of FL and Susan (James) Hugg of PA; brother Steven (Anna) Muller of FL; grandchildren Thomas and Jonathan Fornara, Greyson and Zoe Smith, Katharine Vargas, Ashlyn and Shayla Brennan and Cannon Kevlin; nieces Sharon Bennett, Isabella Muller and Elisha Hugg ; and nephew Samuel Hugg.
Jerry’s family will conduct a private celebration of his life.
