Bruce M Zeller, 71, of Chatham, MA died Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was the husband of Ruth A. Zeller and son of Phillip E. Zeller and the late Mary E. Bonjokian and the stepson of the late George J. Bonjokian.
Bruce was born in Brockton, MA and graduated from Brockton High School in 1968. He received a BA in Business from UMASS Amherst in 1972. He married Ruth A. Springwaldt in 1985 and they made their home in Glenview, IL. They spent a short time in Prague, Czech Republic before moving to the Cape.
Bruce was the co-owner of a fly-fishing store in East and West Harwich until he retired in 2015. Previously, he was a director and vice president for Home Box Office (HBO) for forty years. Bruce loved to travel and was an avid fly-fisherman. He fished all over the world, including Hawaii, Norway, Mongolia, and New Zealand, as well as Cape Cod. Bruce was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and a season ticket holder for years. He was a devoted member of the Harwich United Methodist Church in Harwich, MA.
Bruce is survived by his wife Ruth and his brother Gary Zeller and his wife Doreen of Bridgewater, MA. He is also survived by nephews Michael Zeller of Worcester, Ma and Paul Zeller and wife Ashley and daughter Remington of Raynham, MA.
Visiting hours will be at the Doane, Beal & Ames, 260 Main Street, West Harwich, MA 02671, Thursday, December 2nd from 2:00-4:00pm. A funeral will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 3rd, at the Harwich United Methodist Church in Harwich, MA, followed by a burial in South Chatham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bruce’s memory to the Harwich United Methodist Church and/or Homeless Not Helpless in Hyannis, Ma.
