Virginia Ann Cardamon, 95, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 in West Des Moines. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Virginia was born November 24, 1926 in Diagonal, Iowa to Andrew and Bessie (Stuck) Yashack. She graduated from Diagonal High School and moved to “The Big City” of Des Moines. Virginia worked at Younkers before becoming a manager for Northwestern Bell of which she retired after many years of service. She was a longtime member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Virginia love gardening, baking, golfing, and spending time with her family.
Virginia is survived by two daughters, Victoria (Mark) Miller and Teresa (Roy) Shaw; son, Frank (Joan) Cardamon; grandchildren, Halsey Cicero, Ryan Shaw, Brittney Shaw, Toni Caropelo, Natalie Knox, Kelli Cardamon, and Ben Miller; great-grandchildren, Cruz Cicero, Sevvi and Summit Caropelo, Carder and Leony Knox, Vivien and Matthew Laffoon, and Albert Maione. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Cardamon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Theresa Catholic Church Foundation.
