Rita was born on September 7, 1949, to Robert Dixon and Patricia Ann Johnson. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa. After high school, she enlisted in the United States Army in 1970, and she served our country until 1972. Rita pursued her dreams in fashion and graduated from the Fashion Merchandising Institute of Nevada in 1980 with her Associate's Degree.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Monique Holbert; her granddaughter, Jayah Gandy; and her sister, Antonette Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Dixon Sr.; her mother, Patricia Johnson, her step-father, Ernest Johnson; and her brother, Robert Dixon Jr.
