She was lucky enough to be born into a farm family and grew up with her brother Dave and sister Ann on the farm her parents Chet, and Helen Couser had just outside the town of Zearing. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jerry Reed, and they had a spring wedding at the Little Brown Church in Nashua in 1965.
They were blessed with a daughter Leanne and a son Gary that they raised in Humboldt. They enjoyed traveling as a family, going to Iowa State Football games and to Lake Okoboji. The fairy tale ended when Jerry was lost to cancer in 1997. Nevertheless, Myrna was an amazing, strong woman, and she was determined to build a happy life.
It was not the life she had planned, but it was a different, wonderful life. She was blessed with the best six grandchildren in the world. She kept busy going to all their games, concerts, and recitals. She hosted Girl Scout sleepovers and learned the ins and outs of video games. Myrna had an incredible group of tightknit friends who called themselves SSENIPPAH, which is happiness spelled backward.
Myrna had her card lady friends and her exercise group friends. She traveled to Australia, England, and Italy. She laughed, drank wine, and lived every day. She was a beautiful sunny spirit that always saw the good in people. When others could only see rain, she would find the rainbow.
Myrna leaves behind a family that cherishes her legacy of love and faithfulness: Daughter Leanne (Scott); son Gary (Jennifer); grandchildren Christian, Sam, Katie, Sydney, Ajay, and Sophie; sister Ann; Brother Dave (Judy); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; all the SSENIPPAH ladies, and friends.
After 22 years apart, she was welcomed in heaven by her beloved husband, Jerry, and the thought of this reunion brings great comfort to all who loved her.
