Marjorie Shirley (Allen) Savage, 86, passed away July 10, 2014, in Leawood, KS.

Marjorie was born on October 15, 1927 to Fletcher B. and Mary S. Allen. Marjorie grew up in Ames, IA, attended Ames High School and Iowa State University where she was a member of the Tri Delt sorority. It was while attending Iowa State that she met her future husband and guardian angel, Robert E. Savage. They had three daughters, Susie, Sara, and Katy, and shared 60 wonderful years together. Marjorie was a fashionista with great style. She loved sports, especially Iowa State football and basketball. She also loved her dogs.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, and brother, James S. Allen. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Susan Craig and husband Jerry, of Deerfield Beach, FL; Sara Elizabeth Lafferty and husband Curt, of Kansas City, MO; and Katherine Ann Wilson and husband Michael, of Columbia, MO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 1 p.m., at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines, IA, with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery. Family will greet friends for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
