L. Joanne Morgan

Lyndeth Joanne Morgan, 95, passed away July 9, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024 at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines with visitation from 12 Noon until service time at McLaren's. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Joanne was born December 16, 1928 in West Des Moines to Arthur and Gwendolyn (Pond) Dale. She graduated from Valley High School where she was an outstanding basketball player all four years of high school as well as time when she was in 8th grade Joanne married John R. "Jack" Morgan on October 6, 1957 and enjoyed camping, fishing and boating before his passing. She worked as a bookkeeper at Massey Ferguson for many years until her retirement. Joanne loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, the color pink, and her family. Joanne enjoyed bowling and golfing in her younger years.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Donna Morgan; niece, Lynn (Wes) Hunt; nephew, Jack (Fran) Dale, Jr. and their family; grandchildren, Chad Turnquist, Micah Bear, Ian Bear and their families; great niece, Wendy (Chad) Jennings; great nephew, Stephen (Christina) Hunt and their families; and the families of Ron Griffith and Steve Griffith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Peg Morgan; sister, Patricia Griffith; brother, Jack Dale; and nephews, Ron Griffith and Steve Griffith.
