Jane Maxine Callahan

Jane was born in Gowrie, IA to Nels Henry Hocum and Clara Marie Selstrom Hocum. After graduating from Gowrie High School and moving off the family farm, Jane continued her education and graduated and received her diploma from Ft. Dodge Business College in 1939.

Jane enjoyed traveling with her husband, John, as much as they could when they were both capable, and was very proud to say they were married 67 years before he passed away in 2014.

They did everything together. If you saw one, you saw the other.

She was preceded in death, by her husband, John F. Callahan, sisters, Pauline Hocum, and Howardine Hocum Wavering, and brother, Harlen Hocum.

Jane enjoyed to dress up whenever she went out and took great pride in having good quality clothing. Her family was very important to her when she was growing up and enjoyed doing things together as a family unit whenever they could.

Jane wanted to thank all the wonderful people in the healthcare industry here in the Des Moines metro that helped care for her until her death. She lived in three different retirement and health care facilities and met so many great individuals that looked in on her that it's too numerous to count. You all are greatly appreciated
