Joyce C Bowers

Joyce Bowers (nee Michael) peacefully passed away on July 16, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was 90 years old. Joyce was born August 9, 1927, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to her parents, Edward and Ethel Michael, and sister Mabel Bell, who preceded her in death. She graduated from the Saint Luke's School of Nursing, becoming a registered nurse. She married DeLou (Lou) Bowers on September 16, 1950, having spent 63 wonderfull years together. In 1951, they welcomed a son, DeLou, and in 1957 a daughter, Eileen. Joyce and her husband enjoyed retirement in Ft. Myers, Florida, filled with many vacations with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being very involved in their community in Ft. Myers, Joyce spent a lot of time volunteering at the community library. Joyce enjoyed the many activities available, and shared in them with the many friends she had acquired. Joyce is survived by her daughter Eileen, daughter-in-law Candy, granddaughters Genessa, Nikki, Chrissy, Shelly and Kassi, Grandson Lou; 3 great-grandsons, 4 great granddaughters and 2 nephews. She is proceded in death by her husband DeLou and son DeLou. The family asks that in lieu of flowers,, donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The family will be holdin a small, private memorial service at a later date.
