Emilia Handy, 92, left to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.
She was born to Jose Handy and Julia Vela on March 23, 1930 in Progreso. Emilia enjoyed playing the accordion. Left to cherish her memory is her loving son, Agustin (Maria Guadalupe) Zambrano; grandchildren: Agustin Zambrano Jr, Trinidad Zambrano, Melissa Lee Sandoval, Jaime David Zambrano, Jose Alberto Zambrano and 15 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 1 pm to 11 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
