Steven "Coon" Oscar Iguess

Steven was a lifelong resident of Welsh where he was a part time Welsh City Police Officer and full time plant supervisor. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. The way he explained nature and all of his outdoor adventures was that is where he felt closest to Jesus.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kelly Mallett Iguess and six children, Macie Iguess, Cayson Leger, Landon Leger, Cameron Leger, Gracie Leger, and Kaytlyn Leger. He became a grandfather to baby August which was the highlight of his year. Also left to cherish his memory are his mother Pearl Mott Iguess; brothers, Jeffrey Iguess (Kathy), Wendell Iguess (Janet), and Warren Iguess (Joni); sisters, Mona Arceneaux (Karl) and Tracy Iguess and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Iguess.

He will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers Warren Iguess, Cameron Leger, Noel Arceneaux, Chris Crader, Jeremy Iguess, and Scott Cormier.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Sunday, December 10, 2023 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Lead by the knights of Columbus Visitation will resume on Monday, December 11, 2023 beginning 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev Pat Deshotel Sr. Burial will be immediately following at Oaklawn Cemetery.
