Born in Tampa, Florida, and raised in Welsh, Arty later made DeQuincy his home. His life was centered around his faith, family, and community, finding immense joy in the love of his wife, children, and grandchildren. Arty was known for his love of a good Cochon de lait, early morning coffee, and making sure his lawn—and often his neighbors'—was always perfectly mowed. He was happiest outdoors, hunting, fishing, and cooking, all while surrounded by family, friends, and the sounds of good music. His infectious laughter and lively spirit brightened the lives of everyone around him, and he truly lived life to the fullest.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann (Kennedy) Schexnayder and Roy Schexnayder.
Arty leaves behind cherished memories with his loving wife, Angel Schexnayder; his stepsons, Kendrick Roy and Noah Roy; and his grandchildren, Colton, Mia, Tiffany, Bentley, and Matoe Roy. He is also survived by his daughters, Amber McCord (wife, Trista), Britney Royer (husband, Aaron), and Chasity Guidry (husband, Jace), along with his grandchildren Aubree, Brylee, and Lettie Royer, Sophie, Abbie, and Jacie Guidry as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Laura, Allen, Inez, and Vernie Schexnayder, and his best friend and brother, Dennis Darbonne.
Pallbearers for services will be Dennis, Luke, Allen, Kendrick, Noah, and Chad.
Arty will be remembered for his boundless love and laughter.
