Francis A. Silva

Also known by many as Frank, Pop loved his wife, Carol Ann Silva, of 61 years immensely. Friends since 1st grade, they enjoyed a lifetime in North Truro together surrounded by their son Keith and his wife Priscilla (Haskell), son Daniel and his wife Erin (Sullivan) and son Michael and his Fiancé Jennifer (Fazio). He watched his seven wonderful grandchildren grow up: Annabella, Jason, Robert, Jack, Shane, Alyssa and Audrey. They all loved him and miss him dearly.

His brother Robert Silva and partner Deborah Ford, with whom he spent a lifetime with along with 14 nieces and nephews.

He was primarily know as a fixture at the Truro Police Department for 27 years, first as a dispatcher and auxiliary patrolman and later as assistant to the chief. He wore many hats. He was a truckdriver as a young man and a carpenter with his brother for a short time. However, no hat fit as well as that of husband, father and grandfather, brother, coach and friend!

He enjoyed many years of playing softball and golf with his 3 sons. He and Carol loved to travel with trips to Aruba, Hawaii, Bermuda, countless Caribbean Islands and of course Disney World with the grandkids! The pair were also a sight to behold on the dance floor together!

In addition to his close family, Pops leaves behind countless friends with as many stories and fun times to last multiple lifetimes!

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that, God was going to call your name.

In Life we loved you dearly. In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide.

And although we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 5th at 11am at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Provincetown.
