Teresa Scheffler, aged 90, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023, at her home located in Houston, TX surrounded by loved ones. She was a widow twice. Her first husband passed away in 1966. This led her to move from New York City back to her home state of Texas. She stayed with her sister until she could find a place of her own. When she needed help moving, a neighbor recommended a good man for the job. That’s how she met Bruno Albert Scheffler. He refused to take any money from a widow with 3 children but agreed to let her prepare him a thank you meal. One bite and he was hooked. He always loved her cooking. Later, they were married and celebrated 50+ years before she was sadly widowed again in 2021.
Born in Elgin, TX on October 14,1932 to Emilio and Ignacia Barron, she was one of several children. She was a homemaker for the last half century. A devoted wife, loving mother & grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She loved her family and her extended family of neighbors and friends. She was a devoted woman of God. Strong in her faith, many would often call upon her for prayer. All were welcomed in her home and offered homemade baked goods and a glass of sweet tea.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno Albert Scheffler; son, Rene’ Alvarez; sister, Trinidad (Trine) Cantu; sister, Elidia (Lily) Gonzales; twin brother Jesus (Jesse) Barron; brother Antonio (Tony) Barron and other siblings, nieces, and nephews.
