She is preceded in death by parents O.B. and Rose Jones, and brother Reverend Frank Jones. Shirley is a graduate of Austin High School, class or 1954, and was a member of the Scottish Brigade. She is best remembered for her 15 years of dedicated service as the school crossing guard at the intersection of Beamer and Fuqua. The children in her community could always count on her caring nature and smiling face to greet them every morning and afternoon. Shirley and Gary were always very active members of the community, volunteering and supporting football, baseball, track, and drill team. They have been faithful servants and longtime members of the Catholic Community of St. Luke’s the Evangelist. Shirley was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Mother of Charity #1713, and enjoyed fellowship with the Red Hat Society.
