Susie was born on February 10th, 1950 in Floyds Knobs, IN to the late Edward “Butch” and Mary Margaret “Mommie” Kruer. She was the third oldest of 10 children and was a graduate of Providence High School.
Susie had a spiritual gift of hospitality and shared it lovingly with family and friends paying close attention to everyone’s favorite foods, opening up her home, organizing parties, and always sharing a smile or hearty laugh. Her greatest passion was cooking and feeding her family, friends, and guests. From cherry pies to seafood gumbo, and everything in between, she showed love in the excellence of the meals she prepared...and very loudly. There was not a cabinet or drawer safe from being slammed shut which gave her the notorious nickname, “Super Bang”. She was intentional about including those that didn’t have family or friends close by or might be struggling in some way. Her energy was contagious, her spirit was competitive, and her heart was compassionate. She shared her creative talents with others through the art of jewelry making and floral design, both of which allowed her to share joy and beautiful things with others. Susie had a close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and in her later years found great comfort in studying the Bible, and listening to worship music.
Susie was very close with her 6 sisters; Peggy Fessel, Judy Curry, Mary Ellen Rodriguez (Rick), Shirley Balmer (Donnie Bowers), Louise Stumler (Anthony), and Wanda Bryant (Terry). They communicated daily, shared annual trips together, and each was of great comfort and support to her in her final days. She is also survived by 3 brothers; Edward Kruer Jr. (Marilou), Joe Kruer (Cindy), Jeff Kruer (Terri), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins and preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law CJ Fessel, Mark Balmer, and Mike Curry. Susie was a friend to many, and enjoyed several close friendships that loved her well. Thank you to the many neighbors and close friends who showed special care and support to Susie.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, William C. Morgan “Bill” and her child and step children Ellie Kittrell (Matt), Curt Morgan (Lora), Allison Hanson (Scott), Dana LeConey (Richard), and David Morgan (Dawn). Of great pride and joy to Susie was her role as “Mimi” to 14 grandchildren and great grandchildren: Joey O’ Mahoney (Osa), Sara Morgan, DJ Morgan, Amy Morgan,Travis LeConey (Shannon), Tyler Hanson, Emma Morgan, Morgan Hanson, Sam Kittrell, Iris Morgan, Ben Kittrell, Zach Kittrell, Bishop Brewer, Frankie Brewer, and Finley LeConey.
