Salvador Flores Garcia, 87, of Galveston, Texas, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015. He was born in Waco, Texas on July 5, 1927. Salvador graduated from Gatesville High. He was married to Natalia Manriquez on August 2, 1947; they were married for 60 years. Salvador worked as a jeweler for Zales Jewelry then Fire Instrument Control for the U.S. Government. He had a passion for gardening, pets, his family, and people. Salvador never met a stranger and accepted people unconditionally. He is survived by son Terence Garcia; daughter Nancy Harvey and husband Jerry Harvey; grandchildren Dustin Garcia, Christopher Adam Serwatka, Michael Serwatka, Shane Harvey, and Alley Johnson; great-grandchildren Myka Serwatka and Madelin D’Aversa; and brother Thomas Garcia. Salvador is preceded in death by parents Manuel and Andrea Garcia; brother Louis Garcia; sister Lila Garcia; and brother Manuel Garcia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
