Robert Arthur Hirschfeld

Robert Arthur Hirschfeld, 78 of Houston, Texas peacefully departed this life on Friday, April 24, 2020. He was born on September 27, 1941 in Houston to Charles and Malinda Hirschfeld, who both preceded him in death. He graduated from La Marque High School and went on to attend The University of Houston. In 1968, he married Patricia Clarice Hunter.

Robert was the owner/operator of Hirschfeld Vending and dedicated himself to making children smile. Many knew him as the “Bubble Gum Man”. For many years he was the largest BULK Independent Operator in the United States. He loved the outdoors which included diving, fishing and gardening. Robert was a member of the Lonestar Chapter of the American Society of Dowsers. A unique soul, Robert always had a smile, everyone was a friend and he loved telling jokes, and some were actually funny. He loved being with family and friends. Robert will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Hirschfeld and their children- Michaela Sute, Bobye Spencer, Lad Hirschfeld and Annie Dodson, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous extended family. A memorial service organized by Forest Park East Funeral Home will be held on April 30, 2020. Visitation is from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM with a Graveside Service at 2:00 PM. Please remember facemasks are required and social distancing guidelines must be observed.
