I met Richard playing softball.  We had so much fun playing ball and partying at Tequilas and The Island Club.   My heart is heavy still.  Rest easy Indio 

It's sad😢 to hear this late, my heart hurts to loose a Man that was a parent to me and my siblings up to our teen years. He spoiled us and had hell disciplining us,till this day I can hear his brothers telling him he needs to get the belt on me.😅it didn't happen 😥 .I remember every time we went to the mall,when leaving he would do the loud as eagle call, everyone would turn around wondering where it came from. 😊I was so shy when I was younger, being around him with his out there personality helped.being a softball coach for women at Ingrando park helped him and us in a way. you will be missed Richard ,I will always remember the great memories.💔😢

Richard was my coach friend and became family , he was my coach for many years and became our coach for life .  He didn’t have to but he loved us an the game he took care of us and always watched over us as we watched over him . He became great friends with my brother Anthony Salazar and was his best man at his wedding from there on Richard was forever a part of our lives . I will always remember his laugh , his big contagious smile and his clapping and loudness but he always lit up a room . He would spend many nights at our house in our younger years and loved my moms cooking lol I will never forget him he was the best coach and role model for all of us . And now all grown up I truely appreciate all the time he dedicated to us . He was truely a great person inside and out and we will truly miss him . Never did we expect this we are saddened by his passing but thank you for all the great memories you will always live in our hearts just wish you would of just got your eagles team together before you passed we would of loved to had been there for you one last time to say thank you and that we love you 😘 but you always did things your way !!!! Love you Richard forever in our hearts 💕 

Met Richard & Veronica at Boudreaux. He brought us so much joy. He was the unofficial/official DJ, playing from his vast 70's music selection. He will be greatly missed. Hopefully these memories will give the family some comfort in knowing he brought our community so much happiness.

Always with a SMILE. Made me laugh all the time! He was like a Big Brother or cool Uncle, always looking out for us and a dedicated coach to: me, Annette, Deb, Deanna, Other Annette’s, Erica, Adora, Jeannie, and bunch of others along w (Ram, Adrien, Al) that we could all count on to be there for us. 😢 too young to leave but now Coach will be sitting happily on the sidelines with our Heavenly Father.

It brings me great sadness to say Richard Galvan passed away a little after midnight today. For those of you that don’t know, Rick and Ram, r a big part of who I am today. Not only did they coach us since the age of 12, 13, thru 18, but they kept us close almost every day. We LIVED at Ingrando Park. Every day was an adventure n many memories I will continue to cherish. I alwAys told him that if it wasn’t for him, no telling wut type of trouble we would gotten into. Thank you again Rick for being such a Great Coach, Clown, n FRIEND! You will be greatly missed!😢💔😢💔😢 I can hear ur 🦅 call so clearly from heaven. Until we meet again RIP my Friend.🌹💔😢

Goodbye to my dear friend Indio. It was always a pleasure running into you unexpectedly either at El Jardin or at Barcenas and we’d enjoy a couple of drinks together.  Going to miss running into you when I least expected but one day we’ll run into each other again.  RIP Indio, you will be missed. 

 The first time I met Rickard  it was at Ingrando park  that was back in 74  with this Slickback hair talking all kinds of noise on the basketball court we hit it off real good we became good friends  just like all the other guys I've met there . We gathered up a basketball team for Ingrando park it  was Joe ,  Melvin , Angel Richard , Me  and a few others I guess that's what happens when you get old you lose your mind but anyway those were the good old times , Then I moved to Victoria, and then back to Houston where He got too meet my wife and son . Thanks for all the good memories my Friend...R.I.P my Brother 🙏🏼

I would like to thank you for being a great friend and always pointing me in the right direction as he did with the girls he coached especially my sister Cindy Salazar friends Annette Rodriguez Debra Rodriguez and many more.He showed them girls tough love.like Annette said when they would fall,bust their lips or black eyes Rick would say in that unique strong voice of his “are you gonna cry or get back up and do this til you get it right” and look how all these girls became self sufficient,hard working successful strong women.Thanks also for being my best man at my wedding.Rest in Peace INDIO you are loved by many and will be missed by many.Love you forever‼️🌹⚾️

I met Richard in 2010 over at Carolyn's where we'd hang out and have some drinks. I wrote this the other day and I think the words I chose told a good story....

Found out yesterday that another of my Carolyn's friends passed away. I only knew you by Indio, but you left an impression on me.
Anyone who knew him can tell you that you always knew he was around because he had this booming voice, I mean the fella was Loud!!  
I'll always remember him coming in on Fridays when Dolores Garza was working and that always added in to that party atmosphere for me, having gotten off work and ready for the weekend. Man, I'm flashing back right now....

I remember telling Kristine and us getting a laugh whenever Indio would hit that jukebox because he'd get his glasses on and really focus on what he was going to play. Thing is, he'd play the same damn songs every week and would play them multiple times in the night. Especially "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" by THE TEMPTATIONS when he'd get all happy and start clapping. Whenever he was around, I was always able to forget my problems and just enjoy life.
After Carolyn's closed, I'd follow Dolores to other bars she'd work and would cross Indio and Veronica at Tina's and LP (The L&P The Place To Pee) and I remember telling him how it was good to see him. An old familiar face from "The Good Days".

I must have met Richard over 20 years ago, through Ben and Michelle. It was always fun hanging around him , as he was always the loudest in the room, he seemed to always be full of life, not only was he entertaining but he was welcoming and made you feel at home. I also played softball against him in various tournaments and come to find out we would get our haircut by the same guy. I send my condolences to the Galvan and Cordova families, I know they were a tight nit family and loved one another very much. I pray for God's comfort and peace as they go through the process of mourning his passing, I pray for strength and understanding and a resolve to carry on his legacy for his family. I meant Richard when I was 22 years old through my brother-in-law I knew him till I was in my 30s and somewhere in time we got lost several times I tried to get ahold of him and I couldn't and I know that now and I'm carrying a heavy heart I should have tried harder at least that's what I feel he was a great friend I loved him dearly and I will miss him dearly his smile always made me happy he had a great smile great personality it was nothing that I can't say about Richard but didn't put the laughter in my heart I will miss him very very much and I also give my condolences to all the family and I know that y'all might not remember me but some of y'all will I have no more words my heart is saddened and I will be missing a good friend
