She was married for 31 loving years to her best friend and devoted husband, John Powers. Michelle began her career in teaching but spent much of her life as a caring mother, raising her three children. She was an avid gardener, crafter, Star Wars fan, and enjoyed traveling with her family.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Geneva Zermeno, grandfather Gonzalo Zermeno, and daughter Sarah Powers.
Michelle is survived by her loving husband John Powers; daughter Madeline Cardenas and husband Ricardo; sons Emory Powers and John Powers, Jr.; mother Gloria Montemayor and husband Joe; father Jesse Villarreal and wife Susie; sisters Christina Diaz and husband Ismael, Cynthia Salazar and husband Eugene, along with numerous nieces and nephews; and her dedicated dog, Luna.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a service to start a 12:00 p.m. and committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster.
