Born on September 27, 1925, in McPherson County, South Dakota, Gladys was one of 19 children born to August and Bertha Guthmiller. She grew up in a large and loving family, where she developed the resilience, kindness, and strong work ethic that she carried throughout her life.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Emil, her sons Donnie and Larry, and 14 of her siblings. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her family, including her siblings Edwin, Milbert, Darlene, and Linda; her son Ronald Kirschenmann and his wife Colleen; her daughter Dianna Kirschenmann; and her son Tim Kirschenmann and his wife Cindy. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren Yvette, Becky, Amy, Don, Travis, Timothy, and AnnMarie as well as 17 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Gladys will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She touched many lives with her kindness and wisdom and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at Forest Park East in Webster on April 4, 2025 at 10:00 am followed directly by a graveside service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Dementia Society of America.
