Fidel Gonzalez III

FIDEL GONZALEZ III went home to be with the Lord, in the evening hours, Monday, July 1, 2013, at the age of 42. He is recently preceded in death by his loving wife of 22 years, Melissa Gutierrez-Gonzalez; paternal grandparents, Celia Trevino Gonzalez and Fidel Gonzalez, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John V. Newson; mother-in-law, JoAnn Cabarubio Gutierrez, father-in-law, Oscar Gutierrez, Jr., brother-in-law, Oscar “Corky” Gutierrez, III and first family pet, Apollo Gemini.

He leaves behind his amazing children, Brittany Paige and Adrian Oscar; his father Fidel Gonzalez, Jr. and wife Rosemary; his mother, Joyce Brown; his brother Ryan Gonzalez (Matthew, Christian, Chase, Trevor and Nathaniel); his sister, Marlena Gonzalez (Zachary and Sean); Paternal Aunt and Uncle, Connie Bostick (Ken); Melissa’s maternal grandparents, Jesusita and Edward Garcia; and her Aunts and Uncles, Victor Gutierrez (Jeannie), Sylvia Rocha (John), Ray Gutierrez (Sandra), Louis Cabarubio (Toni), Sharon Gamboa (Fidel), Richey Cabarubio and Anthony Garcia (Thelma); and many loving cousins, family, friends and their fur-babies, Harley and Chloe.

Fidel attended Clear Creek High School and Lee Junior College. He worked for PetroLite, Baker Hughes and Nalco. M.D. Anderson has been his work family for the last 6 years where he worked as a safety technician in the facilities management division of the Environmental Health and Safety Department.

As much as our hearts are breaking, we are comforted in knowing that Fidel has been reunited with the love of his life, his soul mate, Melissa. She and their families welcomed him home with open arms at Heaven’s gates.
