Chris had a career in Computer Operations and worked for NASA along with several other companies including Lockheed, Computer Service Corporation and Jacobs Engineering.
He took great pride in his years of service at NASA. He always felt that he played a part in the Lunar Missions and the space shuttle operations.
Chris loved to cook and enjoyed watching Chef Emeril and Chef Paul Prudhomme cook on their television shows. His favorite chef though was his brother-in-law Curtis. Chris and Curtis spent many days hunting hogs in East Texas. Chris was a great shot and never missed a target.
Chris’ greatest love was his wife Barbara. He cherished her and the life they shared. His love for her was apparent even in his final words “I love you.”
He is preceded in death by his step-daughters Tracy Wingo and Jena Hammond and his parents Richard and Robin Weems.
He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, children Jeannell Nichols, Allen Kitchel, step-son Mark Hammond and his wife Kathy, and grandchildren Jessica Wingo, Jena Hammond, Zach Hammond and Eric Hammond.
