William Bryan McClure

Balsam, NC - William Bryan McClure, 59, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. He was born in Marietta, GA on March 23, 1958 to the late Edward and Shirley McClure.

Bryan was a people person who enjoyed meeting new people. He loved spending time at the ocean with family and family gatherings. He served his country honorably in the US Army for 8 years being stationed in various countries. He was the former owner of BJ's BBQ and enjoyed serving his famous BBQ at various festivals and events.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Frank Alexander IV.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Judy McClure of Balsam, NC; daughter, Jennifer Alexander and husband, Frank Alexander III; granddaughter, Shayla Alexander all of Culpeper, VA; two brothers, Jim McClure and wife, Paula and Scott McClure and wife, Lisa all of Winchester, KY; two step daughters, Kelly Ritchie and Lori Hafley of KY; three step sons, Chad Hafley of KY, Johnny and Russell Smathers both of Sylva, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and one special little buddy and great grandson, Nijah Norton of Cherokee, NC.

A Celebration of Bryans life will be held at 11 am on March 3, 2018 at Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial at the funeral home.
