Wayne Stiles “Beloved Husband, Dad, & Papaw” Wayne Stiles, 73, of Waynesville, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 23, 1942 to the late Rufus and Frances McMahan Stiles. Wayne served his country during Vietnam in the United States Navy. He was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. He worked and retired after 25 years from Western Carolina Forklift. He was a member of the North Hazelwood Baptist Church. He took great pride in his yard work, taking special interest in his flowers. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Rich Stiles, two sons, Joel Wayne Stiles, Jr. and his wife, Trish of Ocean Springs, MS and Paul Stiles and his wife, Lisa of Waynesville; five brothers, Ricky, Jimmy Dean, Dave, Donald and Doug Stiles all of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Kevin Stiles of Pascagoula, MS, Kaitlyn and Zackary Stiles both of Waynesville; one step grandchild, Christopher Lanning of Waynesville; one great grandchild, Ryan Stiles of Pascagoula, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the North Hazelwood Baptist Church with the Reverend James Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Garrett Funeral Home. Military graveside rites will be held at Red Bank Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Plemmons, Ray Clark, Donnie Bryson, John Dale, Jennings Plemmons, Mark Burris, and Stuart Matney. Honorary pallbearers will be the three grandsons.
