Tabitha Sue Jones was born on August 19, 1989 to Sharon (Lois) Cullins and Ira David Jones. She went home to be with The Father on July 30, 2015. Tabitha was a loving and loyal daughter, sister, and friend. If she loved you she loved you hard and faithfully. She walked a very hard journey in her life. She came through the other side a mature, beautiful and humble servant of God. She was highly intelligent; loved to read; and loved Jesus with an increasing hunger for knowledge and understanding of God and His written word. She considered Jones Temple A.M.E. Zion Church and Reverend William E. Staley “her” church and “her” pastor because they saw the best in her and loved her unconditionally. She always had a smile and a laugh to share. She cherished and loved her family more than anything and had an unusual love for dogs: loved to shop and loved to travel and loved a variety of music from mama’s R&B to country. Tabitha touched many lives as someone you could talk to, cry hard with, and laugh even harder. She had a beautiful spirit and she will be greatly missed by all. Tabitha was preceded in death by grandparents Elder and Ruby Cullins; Jack and Geneva Jones; and Godfather Andre McKinney. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory loving and devoted parents, Sharon (Lois) Cullins and Ira David Jones: five brothers, Keith and Caleb Cullins of Waynesville, NC, Jordon Edmonds of Asheville, NC, Michael Jones of Hendersonville, NC, and Steven Jones of Asheville, NC; two uncles, Gordon Cullins of Waynesville and Harvey Jones of Cashiers, NC; four aunts Joanna Howell of Canton, NC, Cathy Cox of Atlantic City, NJ, Brenda Jones, and Ruth Roach of Houston, Texas; one great-aunt Reva Dorsey of Sylva, NC; Godmother, Carolyn McKinney; Best Friend Forever; Angel Flemming; and her “heart siblings” Nachele Forney, David Forney, Jawaan Moore, Samuel Burkes, and Wilorver (Trae) Bankhead. The family will receive friends at a memorial slide show at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 7, at Jones Temple AME Zion Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, at Jones Temple AME Zion Church with the Reverend William Staley officiating. If Tabitha had a chance to speak one more time, she would say “Love your family and cherish your friends “out loud”. No matter who they are, or what they do, let them know that you love them every day because it may be yours or their last day.” Say not in grief she is no more but live in thankfulness and with joy that “she was” The family graciously appreciates and acknowledges every act of kindness and consideration shown during their hours of bereavement.
