Nathan David James, age 35, of Waynesville, North Carolina went to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at his residence. Nathan was born in Haywood County, on October 28, 1987, to Ronald "Ronnie" and Kathy Ball James. He loved Dodge trucks, John Deere Tractors, long walks at Lake Junaluska, going to Dollywood, NASCAR, his beloved dog Jack riding golf carts on the family farm, and Bluegrass. Nathan had a contagious smile and gave the best hugs.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jonathan "Johnny" James and Lowell McClellan Ball; and infant nephew, Cathan Messer.
In addition to his parents, Nathan is survived by sisters, Dana Stapley (Matthew) and Bethany Messer (Andrew); nephews, Sylas, Isaac and Elias Stapley; grandmothers, Doris Ball and Vivian James; aunts, Sandra Barnette (Dennis), Karen Stinnett (Brian), Ronda Ross (Dan), Rachelle McKinnon (Fred); uncle, Lowell Ball (Kelly); numerous cousins; and many special friends and acquaintances.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby and the Reverend Joey Webb, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Friday, August 18, at the funeral home.
