Mary Etta Caldwell Ewart “Loving Wife, Mother, & Grandmother” Mary Etta Caldwell Ewart, 82, of Clyde, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 9, 2015 at her daughter’s residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Eller Belle Scates Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther “Tobe” Ewart, son, Donnie Ewart, and granddaughter, Melanie Ann Nelson. Mary was a member of James Chapel Baptist Church since 1960. In her later years she attended the Clyde Church of God as her health would allow. Mary suffered many illnesses but never gave up and was an inspiration to both her friends and family. She will truly be missed. Left to cherish her memory is her children, Ken Ewart and his wife Loretta of Clyde; Nancy Ann Nelson and her husband Eddie of Waynesville, Susie Ewart of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Sherry, Donna, Angela, Amanda, Andrea, Misty, and David; ten great-grandchildren; and two great grand-children. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Nations, Rev. Steve Frazier and Rev. Mark Caldwell will officiate and interment will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
