life to the next at the age of 96 on April 26, 2020. Born on July 22,1923 to the late Isaac and Ida Price of Madison County, she graduated from Spring Creek High School. Following graduation
she was employed in Michigan for several years before returning to North Carolina.
In 1945, she was married to James Russell Arrington (now deceased) upon his release
from the U.S. Army after being a POW in Japanese prison camps for three plus
years.
Edna retired from Dayco Corporation after twenty-five years of employment. She was an
active member of the Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church where she participated in Sunday
School, VBS, Pastor Search Committee, Building Committee and spent many hours as
a member of the Social Committee.
She is survived by daughters, Brenda White (Steve) of Asheville, N.C. and Elaine Green (Tom) of Apex, N.C. She has four grandchildren who adored her: Rusty Edwards(Melinda) of Asheville, N.C., Lori Anderson (Brian) of Fletcher, N.C., Matt Green (Stacy) of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Chad Green (Lauren) of Holly Springs, N.C. Those grandchildren enriched her life with 1 great-granddaughter and 9 great-grandsons.
In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by brothers Jack, Horace and William
Price and sisters Eloise Blankenship and Emma Reeves and several nephews and nieces.
Our family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by Wanda Constante,
Jean Ann Cutshaw, and Regina Sheehan, members of Care Angels Team of Haywood County and care given through Hospice by Stephanie Kirton. She was also blessed with dear neighbors who were lifelong friends.
She departed this life following a period of declining health but held to the hope we have in Christ. Letting her go is not easy, so we cling to our Faith that we will see her again in
heaven.
Due to the unfortunate circumstance of COVID 19, private services will be held in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home, Reverend Jay Jones, officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Matt Green, Chad Green, Rusty Edwards, Brian Anderson, Roger Reeves and Doug Edwards.
