Doris Wiley Bishop

Waynesville, NC - Doris W. Bishop 93 passed away at home of natural causes Tuesday, October 27th. Born in Anderson, SC 12/20/26.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Grover C. and Tessa Crowder Wiley, her husband of 35 years, Lonnie Bishop, Jr., two brothers, one sister, three sons-in-law, two grandsons, a nephew and a great niece.

Survived by five children; Dan Bishop, Don Bishop (Sandy), Barbara Yarborough, Gloria Brightwell, Martha Robinson; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. One sister, Jeanne Hunter of Brevard, NC., and many nieces and nephews.

Doris retired from Dayco Southern with 35 years employment. She enjoyed cooking for her family, baseball, reading, travel, ceramics, crossword puzzles, bingo with her friend Thelma, her tree lilies, and Yorkie.

Beloved by all family and friends, her hospitality, giving spirit, kindness to everyone, winsome personality and sense of humor, will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Garrett Funeral Home is caring for the family. Memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, November 6, 2020 in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend John Swanger, III officiating.
